How I got Started

I was on my way home from school on the bus, when I overherd a few lads of my own age talking about graphology. I heard that it was something to do with looking at peoples handwriting and seeing what they were like. This was the first time I had heard of graphology, I was 15 at the time.

On Saturdays I had a job doing yacht and dinghy rigging for my father. This was in a village called Netley Abbey, near Southhampton, U.K. He owned a Boat Shop that sold yacht chandlery and took in the orders for the wires and ropes that needed replaceing due to wear and tear. The orders were written in the custimers handwriting. They would say ' One of as pattern ' or ' please make 2 inches longer, will collect on Saturday ', and their name. This would come with a tatty old pair of shrouds or a few halyards that needed replacing.

I started by looking at the Handwriting and guessing. I tryed to discribe the Handwriting in a way that could also discribe a person. So, after a particular order was finished I asked my father if the person who's order it was a scrufy person, as the handwriting looked a bit scrufy to me. He said that most of his custimers were a bit scrufy because they were spending time fixing up their boats. I thought to myself, I could be on to something here.

Praticing on friends came next, The readings would be very simple. Like, 'Your neat and tidy' if the writing looked neat and tidy. Or 'Your very expressive' if the writing looked big. I just started by useing a bit of common sense and if there was something in the writing I wasn't sure about, I would make a calculated guess and then ask if I was right or not. In this way I started to learn more about graphology.

It wasn't till I was 21 that I came across my first graphology book. I was traveling through India at the time. I didn't know that there were any books on graphology till then. The name of the book was ' Secrets of Handwriting ' by, K.M.Paul. Printed in Bombay. Since then I have studyed many other books on the subject. Swiss Cottage Library , London , has a very good selection of graphology books.

At 28 I Moved to Woking and studyed under Frank Hilliger, as he was a professional graphologist and he was giving classes. I remember that he was very keen on the ' eye training ',( knowing what to look for and how to recognise it ). Also I learnt about the structure of handwriting and how it can be seen as a map of the writers habit paterns. He had other students at the time who also lived in the area, Lorane Davis and Simon Wintle. When the four of us were together at Franks place, We would bounce lots of ideas around and learn from each other. Working with Frank Hilliger gave me a good foundation and a practical working knowledge of graphology, that has stood the test of time for me.

Frank Hilliger's graphology teacher was Eric Singer who wrote, Graphology for everyman, The graphologist's alphabet, A handwriting quiz book, Handwriting and marriage, and Personality in handwriting.

I moved in with Simon Wintle in Farnham. We would spend a lot of time studying together. Out of those studys came the discovery of how the seven chakras and the colours of the rainbow related to handwriting analysis. I shall explain this in detail as part of my graphology course. This will be my first ebook and it will take me some time as I am unfarmilar with the procedure.
I lived in Glastonbury for about twelve years. In Glastonbury there are many broadminded people that are very interested in all sorts of weird and wonderful things. I give Graphology Readings at fairs and festivals in the area.
